The city of Cochabamba, located in a fertile valley of the Andes mountain range, is one of the most important and dynamic cities of Bolivia.

Tradition and modernity

It is a rich combination of tradition and modernity, and has kept a real charm. Here, you will quickly be disorientated thanks to the “Cancha” (one of the biggest market in Latin America), the traditional clothes still worn by some of the inhabitants, the colourful buses, the buildings and colonial churches, the history museums, the traditional festivities… You will face a rich and diversified culture. This student city also offers a lot of activities to go out: the brand new Cinecenter, the Acha theatre, many concerts, nice bars and discos, malls…

The heart of Bolivia

Cochabamba is located in the heart of Bolivia and communicates with every departments of the country. Thanks to his location, the city constitutes an intersection of the Bolivian and Andean cultures, and is situated in a department where we find at the same time the Amazonian area (the east part) and the mountainous area (the west part). It is possible to spend a weekend in the Chapare in the Amazonia, climb the mount Tunari (5000 m top of the mountain range overlooking the valley of Cochabamba), or venture into caves and canyons in the middle of the National park of Toro Toro. His location also enables you to travel very easily all over the country to discover the nicest places of Bolivia in 3 to 4 days (Sucre, Salar de Uyuni, Potosi, Titicaca lake…)

The best climate of Bolivia

His altitude reaches 2500 m over the sea and Cochabamba has the best climate of Bolivia: dry and temperate. The city is also known as “the city of the eternal spring”, with an average temperature of 24 degrees centigrade. Cochabamba is also the gastronomic capital of the country. The major part of the fruits and the vegetables are produced in the department of Cochabamba, his culinary culture is very rich. You will find a lot of typical meals that you could discover if you stay with one of our host families.

Cochabamba is not part of the tourist trail of Bolivia and this enables to be entirely immerged in the Bolivian culture and to live a real and authentic experience.
